  • The crater of Las Casitas volcano in Nicaragua, collapsed at 11 am on Friday, October 30, 1998, causing a mudslide that swept down the side of the volcano obliterating all in its path. Over 2500 people in small villages were killed at the onset and there are upwards of 3000 people dead at the last count.
