Topo map of landslide area

Simplified engineering geologic map of the landslide showing locations of monitoring equipment.

Rainfall

Rainfall is measured using a tipping-bucket rain gauge that registers 0.254 mm of rainfall per tip.

Groundwater pressure

Groundwater pressure is measured by vibrating-wire piezometers encased in a bentonite-grout mixture. Piezometer depths are as follows:

Piezometer Depth (m below ground surface)
East shallow 5.2
East deep 20.1
West shallow 8.2
West deep 15.8

Landslide movement

Landslide movement is measured by a cable-extension position transducer anchored upslope from and on the landslide. Landslide movement is indicated on the data plot by changes in position.
